What is Alium’s mission? 

Alium is transforming the way enterprise software is bought and sold. We began by equipping martech and ecommerce vendors with qualitative insights to better understand buyer behavior. 

Today, we’ve expanded with a brand-facing platform that enables executives, marketers, eCommerce teams, and IT leaders to make smarter, data-driven vendor selection decisions by providing access to in-depth insights on vendors—available by invitation only through the Alium platform.

Is Alium similar to an expert network?

While we share similarities in conducting interviews, we differ in one important way: interviewees gain access to the anonymized data collected, ensuring shared value creation.

What types of questions are asked during the interview?

Anonymous interviews begin with broad questions about your goals and objectives before moving into more specific discussions about the strengths and challenges of your current technology stack. 

Examples of questions include:

• On a scale of 1–10, how would you rate your satisfaction with [Vendor]?

When and how will I receive payment?

Once your interview is complete, payment will be issued via our secure partner, Routable, through either check or wire transfer. You can expect to receive a payment notification within 4–6 business days.

Will my name be associated with my interview?

No. Vendors on the platform will only see your company name, department, and approximate title. For example, an interviewee listed as “VP of Digital Media at Macy’s” would appear as: Macy’s, VP Marketing. On the brand side of the platform, all identifying details—including company and role—are anonymized.

Your interview is published inside our private and secure platform in transcript form. We record conversations solely for transcription purposes—there are no video or audio files shared.

Who will conduct my interview?

Your interview will be conducted by an experienced interviewer with deep knowledge of your field. Collectively our interviewers have facilitated more than 1000 hours of conversations.

How long do I have access to the Alium platform?

Your access remains active for one year following your most recent interview. You are eligible to participate in interviews every six months.

Who founded Alium?

Alium is founder-owned and operated by Jonathan Sherry and Alex Testu, former CB Insights executives. The company is venture-backed, with support from leading investors including Greycroft and Primary VC
